Shane Warne's undies war as company goes into liquidation

THERE'S a fight going on over Warnie's undies - and it's not between Liz Hurley and Simone Warne.

Lime Door Brands, the Australian company that manages the sportsman's underwear line - Spinners by Shane Warne - has entered into voluntary liquidation. A meeting with creditors will take place tomorrow to discuss the future of the fashion consultancy, which also looks after Dita Von Teese's lingerie line.

Lime Door Brands chief executive Michele Hamdorf said she had spoken to the former spin bowler (right) about the issue but stressed the voluntary liquidation was not a reflection on the brand's performance."Shane's well aware of it - it's nothing to do with him or the Spinners brand," she said. "The brands are trading well."

Ms Hamdorf said the move was due to differences between her and her business partners. "I put Lime Door Brands into voluntary liquidation after an unresolved stalemate with my three key capital partners," she explained. "I've been trying to buy Lime Door Brands out - the full equity of it - for the last six months, and we basically reached a position where we couldn't agree to agree and given I want to move forward with full ownership of the company I made the decision to put it into liquidation."

Michael Carrafa of SV Partners has been appointed liquidator of the Melbourne-based company. Warne's line, which includes men's and boys' underwear and socks, was launched in India in March and negotiations on a UK release are taking place.

On Friday the company was awarded best new brand in Victoria by the Australian Marketing Institute for Spinners by Shane Warne. "Congratulations to everyone at Spinners on a great job. Spinners are winners check this out - big things ahead too!!!" Warne wrote on Twitter shortly after the announcement.
