DirectorMichael commenced in the area of corporate and personal insolvency in 1994 with Sheahan Sims (later known as Sims Lockwood & Partners) as a graduate. He then proceeded to work with a number of Chartered Accounting firms specialising in personal and corporate insolvency and also on specific engagements including due diligence reviews and investigative accountant reviews.
In October 2000, Michael joined HLB Mann Judd as a Supervisor in its Insolvency division which shortly thereafter was acquired by Stockford Limited. As with Richard and David, Michael left Stockford Limited to be a part of CJL Partners which formed in July 2002.
Michael has undertaken numerous specialist insolvency assignments and has gained experience on all types of formal and informal insolvency appointments including corporate reconstructions, voluntary administrations, creditors’ and members’ voluntary liquidations, court appointed liquidations, receiverships and bankruptcy matters. Michael’s experience extends to a range of industries including construction, retail, professional services and manufacturing.
Over the years, Michael has undertaken specific investigations into insolvent trading, unfair preferences and uncommercial transactions and has prepared specialist report for various stakeholders including financiers and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Registered Liquidator and an Official Liquidator of the Supreme and Federal Courts, and also a Registered Trustee in Bankruptcy.
